Yamaha Rookie class The brother and sister team of Riley and Avery Scott would pull off a 1 - 2 finish for the last race of the season. But watch out next year as a new comer from the kid kart class that tried his hand at the yamaha class would prove to be a strong competitor. Gage Winters has proven he's got the skills needed to be a top contender for next year, by mixing it up with both Avery and Riley Scott in the Prefinal. Gage had some chances to even take the lead. Watch this class next year as it is going to have some hot shoes.
Finishing order as follows.
1. Avery Scott
2. Riley Scott
3. Gage Winters
4. Cameron Christ
Clone Jr class we had a battle for the championship as both the 2 front runners were tied in the series. Alanmykael Polley would prove he had the set up by taking Top Qualifier. Jared Wiemelt would be right there just a few tenths back. In the Prefinal Alanmykael and Jared would take spots 1 and 2 and never look back as the two of them would pull away from the pack. In lap 7 of 10 Jared tried to get in a corner under Alanmykael to make the pass. But Jared would break loose and spin allowing Alanmykael to pull away. In the final both front runners would be 1 and 2 going into the first turn. But a hit from behind would spin the leader around leaving the lead for Jared. But Jared would loose the lead after an over correction in one of the turns. Matt Pyatt would take the lead and hold it. While Alanmykael would come from the back working his way through traffic to catch Jared for the final lap. At the final stretch the two would be side by side with Jared winning by just 70 -100`s of a second at the line. Alanmykael almost pulled off a come from behind win. But Jared drove hard and held off a challenger he knew was not to be taken lightly. Great Job by both of you. Here is the finishing order.

Well as most of you remember , the last Springfield MATC event was stopped short by mother nature. But this time we got to finish this one. First off !!! MATC would like to Thank Mid State Kart Club for a Great time. We had allot of great racing by all classes. Some first time winners and repeat winners who are on the hunt for yet another MATC Championship. If any of you have not heard why its called MATC or Mid America Track Challenge. The last part there Track Challenge. The meaning about this is that you the driver are being challenged by the local tracks,be it either backwards or fowards. Your are also being challenged by elemets the the local drivers who know there track better then most. So when you the driver come out with a victory!!!. You can stand on that podium and say I BEAT YOUR CHALLENGE. So once again Thank you Mid State for giving us the track backwards and challenging all the drivers and testing there limits. Great Job !!!
Points are up and Our next event will be Sept the 15th & 16th at TNT Kartways. Camping is free, sorry there are no plugins.
Aug the 25th will be race # 4 of the MATC. The hosting track will be Mid State Kart Club located in Springfield IL. Please check the format tab to your left for start times and fees.
What a fantastic weekend at the TNT Kartways track in West Quincy, Mo. We had a great turnout and with the temps in the low 80`s to mid 90`s we new some track records were going to get smashed. We saw some of the best racing this season. In a few of the classes the competition was so close that only a few thousands seperated the front runners. We have the points from SLKA and TNT and have been posted. Sorry for the delays on those getting posted.

MATC Staff !!!
Clones FYI information !!!!! We will be keeping an eye on Flywheels. We know they are allowing the 6619,18 and Raceseng flywheels. But what has not be approved by AKRA yet is ARC`s 6627 or 6602 Flywheels. Just a friendly tip for you Clone guys. Also please make sure you are running 5 in Diameter wheels. As per the class structure page. Also we did notice some Pipe`s that are not allowed in the class. One was a J pipe, those I believe are 3 stage headers. Clone class must use single stage only. FYI some things we will be paying attention to.
Clone Classes please check class structure page for updated information.
Thank you .
Mid States Rulling on Flywheel. I spoke with Russ Kemple and he assured us that the MATC would not have an issue with the new flywheel that midstate has impossed. So if you have a steel, 6619 , Raseng or Stock flywheel you will still be able to run at Midstate for the MATC. But please keep in mind that 2013, No one will be allowed to run the stock flywheel.
HOT HOT HOT !!!

Revised! Update on Minors at SLKA 3/20/2012
Only Minor Drivers (ages 17 and under) must have a birth certificate on file at SLKA. Birth certificates are not required for Minors who are not racing.
All Minors, Drivers and Non-Drivers, must have a Parental Consent Form on file at SLKA. This form is good for the entire 2012 SLKA season. This form may be filled out by the Minor's parent / legal guardian the first time they bring the Minor to the track. If the parent / legal guardian will not be accompanying the Minor's first visit to the track, the parent can request a form in advance, fill it out and have it notorized. The Minor can then bring the form to the track and be signed in by an accompanying adult. If you have any additional questions, please contact SLKA President, Tim Vinson at Fast3Good@aol.com .
If an Adult Driver's age is in question, proof of age may be requested. Please be prepared to show a drivers liscense or birth certificate.
2012 Schedule is ready to go. Please check the schedule tab to your left for more information. We also have some returning sponsors and a few new ones as well. More will posted on these and more information of what to expect for the 2012 Series.
Thank You
MATC Event Director.
Amended Change`s marked in red !!!!
A few Changes this year. Clone class weight`s have changed a bit. Also YKC & YLC will be the spec tire`s used. The only exception to that rule is Kid Karts and Clones we will be using an open tire rule for them. We will be following the AKRA rules to this point. Should AKRA change the rules in the middle of the season. We will continue to follow the rules we started with and will not change. Also as most of you clone guys have been keeping an eye on the rules page you have until July to make sure you are running the new Steel Flywheel. You now have till 2013 to change to a different flywheel, you will no longer be able to run a stock flywheel.
Also Kid Karts, The MATC allows both old style and new style motors. So this year we have allowed the new style engines, to tape up to balance the advantage the old styles have over the new styles in creating heat and more power. Now this is your option you do not have to but if you wish to you can. So Dad`s and pit crews out there this is your choice.
Clone weights
Clone Rookie - 260 lbs Kart and Driver
Clone JR - 310 lbs Kart and Driver
Clone Sr - 360 lbs Kart and Driver.
Thank you.
