Welcome to M.A.T.C !!!

The MATC Round 3 Race Was a HUGE Success!!!!
Saturday was just a Practice Day and many showed up to take advantage of it . The temps where up there and humidty was in the mid range. Saturday was also a day to get the Gremlins out before race day as well.

Kyle Kennedy also took time to pray to the Race God`s !! On Sunday before the Championship Race was to begin.

The First Class out was Kid Kart. This class had a Big !!! turnout as   little racers came to seek the Big Win in the last race of the MATC. The rolling start was a little bit confusing as some of the kid karters have never done one. Most have done standing starts only. But by the end of the day all the Kid Karts did a great job in mastering this kind of start . In the Final we had a few crashes as many were running hard to get the win!!!. No one was injured and the corner workers did a great job of handling the crashes. We saw a great race between Tate Steinmann and Nick Cory. Nick Cory had the lead but an error by the Main Flagman had the white flag out early and Nick came around to get what he thought would be the checkerd flag only to get another white flag in slowing down in confusion Tate passed him and went on to take the Checkered Flag. There was a discussion on this matter. But officals did not over turn the win. Finishing in 2nd was Nick Cory. In 3rd Place was Huck Jenkins. In 4th place was Tyler Allison. In 5th was Camron Christ. The
rest of the group is as follows. 6th was Hailey
Todenhaupt . 7th was Cody Pogue. 8th spot was Jack Ozment. 9th spot was Krystian Polley. 10th
Spot was Jaden Smoot. 11th Spot was Teagan Keller. 12th Spot was Alex Whaley. 13th Spot Gage Winters.

The next class out was Tag 60. As posted above Kyle Kennedy set the pole and prayed for a Victorious Win. Well the Racing Gods heard him as he did win the feature event. But not without Kyle Potts Chewing at his rear end. Kyle Potts was not about to go down with out a fight as these 2 racers where nose to tale with Kyle Potts even taking the lead. But Kyle Kennedy determined to get his spot back. Did and fought hard all the way to the finish to win the TAG 60 Event and Sealing the Win for the Class Champion of TAG 60 for 2010. Way to go Kyle Kennedy . Finishing in a Strong 2nd place was Kyle Potts look for him to come back in 2011 and make a run for the coveted spot of CHAMPION!!!. Finishing in 3rd spot was Kamryn Sloan . Finishing in 4th spot was Camren Kulp . 5th spot was Zach Whaley and rounding the class out in 6th was Devon Kulp.

Next Class out was Yamaha Jr class. With these 3 racers so close in the points race. The race was on to win the Championship Crown of this Class. With Brian Vinson taking Pole. Cayley Hall and Stephen Wallace had there work cut out for them to get to Brian and go for the win. In the Final race we saw Brian jump out to a big lead and Cayley and Stephen battled to hold and maintain 2nd spot. while this racing was going on Brian was able to extend his lead a little. Cayley and Stephen swapped spots a couple of times but Cayley was able to get around Stephen and fend him off to hold on to the 2nd spot . Cayley did make up some ground on Brian but there wasnt enough laps left to over take him for the first spot. But the Battle between Cayley and Stephen was AWESOME to watch. So the finishing order was 1st to Brian Vison with this win Brian Locked up the Bid For Champion Great Job !!! In 2nd Spot was Cayley Hall. I would look for this young lady to make a run for the # 1 spot in 2011. Finishing 3rd was Stephen Wallace. This young man Drove his heart out. Look for him to also make a run for the bid to be # 1 in 2011 as well.

The next class out was Yamaha Rookie Class. With  Brady Dunn leading in the points race. He new that Thunder Valley Raceway or I55 at Pevely would be the track that decide it all. As the Kart that beat him at the last MATC Event was going to be there. But Brady knew this was not a Home Track for either of them so its Neutral ground for both drivers. The kart that beat him is Kaleb Allison. Kaleb is no stranger to this track as he has ran here many times. In Kid Karts , in Tag 60 , in Yamaha`s. But would that be enough to take the win over the points leader Brady Dunn. In the Feature Kalab took the lead and never looked back Brady did hang with him for a few laps but got caught up in Lapped Traffic and Kaleb was able to slip away for the Feature Win !!! When the dust settled and the smoke cleared. All though Kaleb won the race. He did not have enough points to surpass Brady for the #1 Spot. Brady was crowned the Champion of Yamaha Rookies. I wouldn't count out Kaleb Allison. Look for him in 2011 as Kaleb will return to seek the Challenge Champion Throne. Finishing out the race order is as
follows. 3rd Place was Zach Whaley. Will Zach be the one to take the covet spot ???. 4th spot Evan Moore. This young driver came out of kid karts this year and has made a big impact on the Yamaha Class. Will Evan be the young pupil that surpasses them all and takes the Glory. In 5th spot Kamryn Sloan. Kamryn is no slouch. There is a reason they call it Girl Power!!! Will Kamryn beat the boys and call herself THE QUEEN of the Challenge. 6th spot Jacob Gebel . This young man Ran a Strong race and was 2nd in points.  But fell to 3rd.The Glint in his eyes tells me he is ready for a rematch and wants a Shot at the Title. 7th spot was Brian Heiple. Brian ran Tag 60 once and changed over to Yamahas Will Brian be the Underdog that Comes out of nowhere to slide past all and claim the Champions Seat??? Finishing in 8th spot Zachary Lynn. Young Zach has never raced a kart this is his first year. he is learning quickly and will definately be a force to contend with. The Drama the Drama so many great racers with just 1 spot at the top. Will 2011 be the magic year for 1 of these other drivers!!!!

Next Class out was Yamaha Senior Sportsman. Tyler Roland and Robbie Freeman where like two heavy weights battling it out in a ring. Tyler and Robbie Battle at all of the MATC Races. Trading paint , Trading rubber really Dooking it out . But Tyler Stood his ground and won the event at Pevely. This win sealed the deal for him to be Crowned Challenge Champion. But i wouldnt count out Robbie Freeman to just sit back next year and let Tyler have that Coveted spot again. I would suspect Mr.
Freeman will make 2011 his year to be called the King of Kings. I am sure we will see these 2 battle just as hard in 2011 at the Mid Amerca Track Challenge. Get your tickets ready as 2011 Senior Sportsmans Class will be the Show to watch .

The next Class out was Clone Jr & Clone Rookies. In the Clone Jr Class Kala Polley was the karter to beat. She drove her kart in all 3 MATC events with speed and precision. The Margay Brava 1.2 handled like a Dream. There was a story on her local news station about her. Some people know about it some dont . Kala was born with a right side handicap. During birth she had a small mini stroke. This caused her to not have full function of her right hand and right leg. With PT and OT theropy she was able to use her hand and leg as good as any one else could. But she still struggles from time to time on her right hand. So for this young driver to come out and handle this kind of a sport.
Speaks volumes to all of us the determination of the human spirit . Kala did go on to win the MATC Event and Seal the Win For the Series. Congrats to Kala The Queen of the Challenge. But will this rein live on in 2011 or will rivals Jared Wiemelt , or New comer to the sport Mariah Freeman be the Next King or Queen to take over. Mariah drove a great race and is learning quickly. I think in 2011 Kala will have her work cut out for her. As both Jared and Mariah look poised to strike and take a run at the coveted spot.

Clone Rookies we saw a Great Race as well. This has alot of young drivers in it . For the Points Leader Alanmykael Polley. This track was home to Daniel and Emily French. The Brother and Sister team was not going to make it an easy run for the Points Leader. It gets better, on the horizion was yet another valiant racer. She goes by the name of Cassidy Allison!!. This young driver just started this year and has shown VAST improvements in her ability to wheel a kart around the track . Alanmykael did get off to a great start in the final and drove his Tornado Chassis Flawlessly setting some awesome lap times. As Cassidy drove hard to stay with the leader but ended up falling back in the field. The young French`s where having a brother and sister race. In the Pit`s Daniel said He was not going to be beatin by his sister and he was going to have bragging rights at the homestead. Off the start his Sister did take the Lead and young Daniel had his work cut out for him. As the laps clicked off Daniel worked hard trying to get around his sister Emily. But she was not going to go down without a fight. Emily did spin in the back corners and Daniel was able to get by her. But I think had she not spun GIRL POWER would Rule at the Homestead of the French`s. Alanmykael did win the Event at the MATC. He was Crowned the King Of the Rookies. Cassidy Allison finished in 2nd followed by Daniel French in 3rd and Emily French in 4th . 2011 will tell the tale as Cassidy Allison looks to be coming for the leader or will Daniel and Emily  French take Aim and be Crowned Challenge Champions. Could a New Comer Be lerking in the distance poised to strike. Join us in 2011 and see what unfolds.

The last class of the day was the Clone Seniors. This Class thought it had only a few racers in it . With Points Leader Ken Williams in a commanding lead Winning the First MATC Event at Pevely and the Second MATC Event at TNT. Second Place Points Runner Nick Todtenhaupt Wanted to prove he could take down the points leader. In the Final he did just that Nick drove hard as Ken was all over him in the Feature and was poised to strike should Nick Bobble in any of the turns. But Nick stayed focused and drove his Kart to the Win. With Nick winning the MATC Event would it be enough to give him the King Of the MATC. But it was not ment to be as Ken Williams had to big of a points lead on Nick. Ken Williams was Crowned Challenge Champion for 2010. Finishing order is as follows. 1st Place Nick Todtenhaupt. 2nd Place Ken Willians . 3rd Place Tom Luczkawski. 4th Place TO BIG JOHN McCracken. I think Ken is going to have to hold on tight to the Crown as Nick looks to 2011 for his chance to take it from Ken.
